This process is for Bracknell Forest residents only. If you are not a Bracknell Forest resident, you will need to apply to your home local authority. You must apply to your home local authority no matter what school you wish to apply for.
If your child is in year 6, you can apply from 12 September 2026 for them to transfer to secondary school in September 2027.
The application process closes on 31 October 2026. Applications received after this date will be considered late and processed in the second round of admissions.

When you submit your application, you are confirming that you have read and understood the guide.
If you are considering schools outside Bracknell Forest, you should also read those schools’ admission arrangements for 2027 to 2028, which should be available on the schools’ websites.

How to apply
You can apply online from 12 September 2026 using the Citizen Portal.
If you have not used the Citizen Portal before, you will need to create an account before you can apply.
Please note:
- the online site (Citizens Portal) is down every day between midnight and 2am
- for any technical issues such as password resets please email application.support@bracknell-forest.gov.uk (School Admissions cannot reset your account)
- the Citizen Portal will close at 11:59pm on 31 October 2026

Supporting documents can be uploaded to your online application or emailed to school.admissions@bracknell-forest.gov.uk.

Supplementary forms for schools outside Bracknell Forest
If you are applying for a school outside Bracknell Forest, you must check that school’s admission arrangements to see whether you need to send any supplementary forms or supporting information directly to the school or its admission authority.
Do not send birth certificates or proof of address to other local authorities or schools. These documents should only be sent to Bracknell Forest School Admissions.
Bracknell Forest School Admissions will not forward supplementary forms or supporting information to schools outside Bracknell Forest, so it is your responsibility to submit anything required by another admission authority by their deadline.
Make sure all your supporting documents are submitted before the closing date.
Check your emails regularly. School Admissions may contact you for more information to verify your application.
You will receive your offer of a school place by email on 1 March 2027.
School Admissions will not confirm offers over the phone.
When you receive your offer, you need to finalise your application by accepting or refusing the school place offered. This must be done by 15 March 2027.
Failure to do so may result in the school place offered being withdrawn.

When School Admissions have received responses from all our residents, and have co-ordinated with other local authorities, information will begin to be sent to schools.
Schools will begin to make contact to arrange your child's start.
Make sure all your supporting documents are submitted alongside your application.

If you have applied before 15 March 2027, your outcome letter will be sent to you shortly after 22 March 2027.
School Admissions will not confirm offers over the phone.
