Bracknell half marathon

The Bracknell half marathon took place on Sunday 28 April, with nearly 950 runners crossing the start line. Just before the Bracknell Forest Mayor Jennie McCracken set the runners on their way the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance swooped low over the start in recognition of the £1038 raised by online donations from the runners.

In near perfect conditions the race was won by previous winner Simon Newton in a time of 1 hour 13 minutes 34 seconds and the first lady across the line was Gemma Jones in a time of 1 hour 24 minutes and 28 seconds.
On behalf of the runners the organisers would like to thank all of the volunteers who played a massive part in making this event the success it is.

The date for next year's race will be announced early in the autumn.

The organisers can be contacted through their general enquiries email address - half.marathon@bracknell-forest.gov.uk.
