Civil partnerships

A civil partnership is a legal commitment formed by two people of the same sex. Couples who form a civil partnership will be legally regarded as ‘civil partners’.

From Wednesday 10 December 2014 couples who registered their civil partnership in England and Wales will be able to convert their civil partnership to marriage. See the converting a civil partnership to a marriage page for more information.

What we provide

You can register your intention to form a civil partnership at the register office if you live in the Bracknell Forest district.

Your ceremony can be held in our ceremonial venue the Syrett Suite, at an approved venue in Bracknell Forest, or any register office or approved venue in England or Wales.
