Civil partnerships
A Civil partnership is a legal commitment formed by two people of the same sex. Couples who form a civil partnership will be legally regarded as ‘civil partners’.
What we provide
You can register your intention to form a civil partnership at the Register Office if you live in the Bracknell Forest district. Your ceremony can be held in our ceremonial venue at the Syrett Suite at an approved venue in Bracknell Forest, or any Register Office or approved venue in England or Wales.
Who is eligible?
In order to register as civil partners you must be:
- The same sex
- At least 18 years old (or 16 years old with parental consent)
- Not already be a civil partner or married
- Not be closely related
What do I need?
When you have chosen a date and booked the venue for your civil partnership, you must arrange to give notice in the Register Office of the district in which you live.
Opening times
The Register Office is open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm (excluding Bank Holidays).
