Commissioning for older people

In 2007, the number of people over the State Pension age living in the UK was greater than the number of children for the first time ever. By 2025, the over 65 population in Bracknell Forest is expected to increase by 46%, and by 67% by 2030 (Source, ONS)

In spring 2013, the Bracknell Forest Older People’s Partnership researched national policy. It also sought feedback of local people and organisations involved in supporting people aged 50+. The result is the Commissioning Strategy for Older People.

The strategy will make organisations aware of the issues which are important to all older people. It should be considered when designing and delivering support and services to all older people in the borough.
