Community centre dances to new tune

2 April 2014

Community groups in Bracknell Forest can put their best feet forward on a new floor at Farley Wood Community Centre.

The new flooring is better suited to activities such as dance and exercise classes and has been paid for with £17,300 from Bracknell Forest Council's Section 106 money (property developers' contributions to community projects) and a £1,000 grant from Binfield Parish Council.

The centre, in Turnpike Road, Binfield, is leased by Bracknell Forest Council to Farley Wood Community Association - a volunteer-run charity.

Cllr Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, corporate services and public protection, said: "The old floor was getting tired and difficult to dance and exercise on. This is a huge improvement for everyone who uses the centre and it's pleasing to know that the groups using the new flooring are delighted with it."

Anyone interested in booking the centre should call 07928 818014.
