At the end of November, the media came to Coral Reef Waterworld. They saw the progress made so far on the new flume tower, the roof, Sauna World and more.

Reporters and photographers from local newspapers and BBC attended the media tour. They were able to see how Coral Reef had changed since the last media briefing in July.

News releases:

Overview

Coral Reef is closed for its transformation until 2017. Work is progressing swiftly on its exciting refurbishment.

As of 23 September 2016, work to build the base for the new flume tower (which will house the five fantastic new waterslides) began, after the old flumes and the flume tower were demolished over the summer.

Elsewhere, the scaffolding required for the main pool hall roof to be taken down and replaced has been completed. The work to the roof will begin shortly.

The stripping out of the fittings in the reception area, changing rooms and Coconut Grove café is also near completion.

The refurbishment project will result in:

  • 5 thrilling state-of-the art flume rides being installed within a new flume tower
  • enhancement to Sauna World
  • upgrading the Lazy River area
  • a new changing village
  • a fresh Coconut Grove café
  • revamping the reception area
  • a replacement roof over the main pool hall and other areas of the building

Leisure services review

Do you use leisure services in Bracknell Forest? We are undertaking a review of the leisure services provided at Bracknell Leisure Centre, Coral Reef Waterworld and Downshire Golf Complex. Due to severe financial pressures on the council, this could result in facilities being managed by a third party operator by early in 2018. A public meeting about this was held at Bracknell Leisure Centre on 5 January.

Car park - important notice

The Coral Reef car park is permanently closed to the public at all times due to the Coral Reef refurbishment project.
