Teacher Pay Spines

Both Qualified and Unqualified Teachers are bound by national conditions of service but all Bracknell Forest teachers also qualify for the London Fringe Allowance. We are the most westerly LA to be able to pay this and the current allowance is included in the scales below and is equivalent to an extra £992 per annum.

Every September, salaries for teachers on the main pay scale rise to the next point on the salary scale (if they have performed satisfactorily).  Your salary will also increase as you take on additional responsibilities in school.

When you reach the top of the main pay scale you can opt to have your teaching assessed. If you meet the required standards you pass through the threshold and move onto the upper pay scale. This upper pay scale has three points and progression is based entirely on your performance. The achievements of post threshold teachers and their contribution to schools should be substantial and sustained, in order to progress.
