Easthampstead Park Cemetery
The cemetery is situated in the grounds of Easthampstead Park, to the right of the entrance. It provides a peaceful and tranquil haven for the departed.
The cemetery is laid out in a lawn style with the first three sections having flat memorial tablets and paved walkways. This means that access is available at all times throughout the year.
The other sections of the cemetery are planted with shrubs, fragrant roses and wisteria. There are areas with wooden pergolas and these sections are marked with back-to-back headstones. This leaves room for mechanical mowing of the grass between memorials.
Our current new burial area is in the centre of the cemetery, section F. Nearby we have a dedicated children’s burial area, which is supported by a tranquil woodland animal scene set in granite.
There are separate sections which have been allocated exclusively for the use of the Muslim and the Bahai communities.
Warning - floral tributes and animals
Please be aware there are deer, rabbits and squirrels residing in the surrounding woodlands and it’s possible that some floral tributes may be eaten by these animals. This is due to the animals finding it difficult to source food in the surrounding areas. Roses appear to be their first choice to eat.
To alleviate this problem we recommend that you check this list of plants that the animals may not eat if they have a choice - Nepeta (catmint), Helichrysum (curry plant), Symphytum (comfrey), bergenia, Fuchsia, heather, Yucca, Brunnera, Tradescantia, hardy geranium, Digitalis, Aquilegia, Echinops, Zantedeschia, Geum, Alchemilla, Hosta, Crocosmia, Astilbe, Stachys, Narcissus, Rudbeckia, Anemone, Vinca, Thalictrum, Aconitum, Aster.
