Enforcement Policy
Bracknell Forest Council aims to protect the health, safety and welfare interests of residents, visitors, employees and businesses alike within the Borough. The Council is responsible for enforcing the laws that have been put in place to ensure this protection. The Environmental Health and Safety Section applies an Enforcement Policy so that it can make fair, balanced and consistent decisions about enforcement.
The Enforcement Policy is designed to make sure that everyone knows the principles that the Environmental Health and Safety Section shall apply when carrying out enforcement work. By applying the same principles, everyone involved in the process is helping to treat individuals, businesses and other groups fairly but effectively.
We have also produced The Food Law Enforcement Plan and The Health and Safety Law Enforcement Plan. These plans set out the Council's position to fulfil its statutory obligation for food safety, food standards and health and safety in the Borough. In drafting these documents, the Council has aimed to provide comprehensive information in a way that is clear and readable, whilst still ensuring the relevant issues are fully addressed.
