Health and Safety

The Commercial Team is part of the Environmental Health and Safety Section and is responsible for the enforcement of the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and associated legislation in over 1470 premises throughout Bracknell.

We help local businesses maintain a safe business both by carrying out regular inspections and by offering education courses, advice and practical help

We promptly investigate enquiries and complaints about unsafe premises, poor working conditions including accident notification taking appropriate action as necessary

We produce a wide range of information leaflets to help businesses comply with the law

We are notified of all new businesses and cooling towers

We take part in national campaigns to promote health and safety in the borough

Business Registration

Businesses were required to register with us under Section 49 of the Offices, Shops and Railway Premises Act 1963 by completing an OSR1 Form. This is no longer required.
