Smartie Pants Nappy Incentive Scheme
Bracknell Forest Council is offering parents the chance to claim £30 for going ‘green’ and using washable nappies.
Sending disposable nappies to landfill costs the Council a considerable amount of money not only in transport but also in landfill tax. This tax is set to continuing increasing and so disposal costs to the Council will keep on rising.
Therefore as a thank you for not using disposable nappies the Council is offering parents using washable nappies on their children £30 cashback.
To qualify for the payment:
- You must be a resident of Bracknell Forest Borough
- Your child must be under 18 months old
- You must be the child’s parent or legal guardian
- You must use the payment to go towards the cost of purchasing reusable nappies or towards the weekly cost of a nappy washing service
- You can only make one claim per child
Random checks may be made to check the eligibility of your claim. If you are found to have falsely claimed the subsidy you will be asked to repay the full amount.
To claim the cashback you must complete the relevant application form or you can request a paper copy by calling the Waste and Recycling Team on 01344 352000.
The completed application form must be returned together with the following information:
- A copy of your child’s birth certificate
And either:
- A recent detailed receipt or receipts clearly showing the purchase of reusable nappies to the total value of £30 or more; OR
- An invoice, or invoices, to the total value of £30 or more, or a signed compliments slip from a nappy washing service; OR
- Signed confirmation from a health professional. A blank form which can be signed the next time you see your health visitor is included with the application form.
This must all be sent to: Bracknell Forest Council, Waste and Recycling Team, Time Square, Market Street, Bracknell, RG12 1JD.
Bracknell Forest Council can only give the £30 cashback to Bracknell Forest Borough residents. Reading and Wokingham councils run similar schemes and contact details can be found below:
