2007 was a great year for Bracknell Flowers, with wonderful floral displays to wow the public and permanent landscaping that generated pride and community involvement. Everyone had an input.
At the announcements of the 2007 Thames and Chilterns in Bloom competition Bracknell Flowers 2007 achieved the following successes:
- Silver Gilt Award – Thames & Chilterns in Bloom Regional Competition
- Best Water Conservation Initiative - Thames & Chilterns in Bloom Regional Award
- Best Commercial Involvement – Thames & Chilterns in Bloom Regional Award
- Highly Commended Certificate for Sandy Lane Primary School
Great pride is taken in these efforts to brighten the borough and maintain the environment for residents and visitors alike. Flowers have always been planted in the town centre but with the major redevelopment of Bracknell town centre now becoming closer, it is more important than ever to support the area during this period of change.
Bracknell Flowers was launched in 2002 as part of Borough Council’s commitment to protect and enhance our environment and to give the town’s Britain in Bloom entry a strong identity.
2002’s Jubilee-coloured floral displays in the town centre celebrated the Queen's Golden Jubilee and prompted overwhelming credit and positive media coverage which generated great local civic pride.
Since then, Bracknell Flowers has gone from strength to strength, first entering Thames and Chilterns in Bloom in 2003 and the national Britain in Bloom competition in 2004:

Britain in Bloom: The National Competition
Since it started in 1963, Britain in Bloom has grown into the largest horticultural campaign in Europe. Every year, hundreds of communities are involved, from tiny rural villages to the largest cities, all bringing horticultural skill and huge enthusiasm to one common aim: to regenerate local environments, both locally and nationally by the imaginative planting of trees and shrubs, flowers and landscaping and by dealing with local environmental issues such as litter, graffiti and vandalism.
Britain in Bloom is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society and involves many thousands of people in many different communities across the UK taking an active interest in caring for their local environment
Bracknell Flowers is headed up by Bracknell Forest Borough Council and the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP), with a team of officers who, in conjunction with Bracknell Town Council and our business sponsors, ensure that Bracknell blooms all year round:
