Emergency Planning - Training, Exercises and Seminars
Throughout the year Bracknell Forest Council's emergency planning team, alongside other Berkshire authorities, takes part in team building exercises and training to make sure they are up-to-date with new techniques and legislation. When Disaster Strikes in Education Seminar - 13 November 2008
A one day seminar held at Easthampstead Park Conference Centre, which shared the experiences of people involved in disasters affecting schools, and those who write emergency plans for educational settings.

Emergency Planning and Business Continuity training for Schools - 11 November 2008
A two hour evening training session to assist governors and teachers in developing their own emergency plans. This course is run 3 times a year.
Project Argus 24 September 2008
Project ARGUS is a National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) initiative, exploring ways to aid businesses in preventing, handling and recovering from a terrorist attack.
Local businesses attended ARGUS and worked through a simulated terrorist attack before considering action plans should such a situation arise.
Berkshire Regional Continuity Forum Exercise Monsoon - 5 November 2007
Nearly 70 businesses attended the BRCF's 'Exercise Monsoon'. This year the exercise was held at Easthampstead Conference Centre and the scenario was flooding.

An in-house business continuity exercise testing the Council's capability to continue its critical functions in the face of disruption.

Rest Centre Training - 26 June 2007
On 26 June 2007 the East Berkshire authorities held a rest centre training day at Windsor Leisure Centre. A rest centre would be opened in the Borough if residents should need to be evacuated from their homes. Students from Bracknell and Wokingham College volunteered to act as evacuated residents for the day.
Acetylene Cylinder Training - 11 June 2007
On 11 June 2007 Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Council held an in-house training day concentrating on the Council's response to an acetylene cylinder incident in the Borough.

Humanitarian Assistance Centres - 8 March 2007
On 8 March the Thames Valley Humanitarian Assistance Group chaired by Louise Osborn, Emergency Planning Manager held a half day conference on Humanitarian Assistance Centres.
