Substance Misuse
Drug and Alcohol Action Teams (DAATs) are charged with responsibility for delivering the National Drug Strategy at a local level. The DAATs ensure that the work of local agencies is brought together effectively and that cross agency projects are co-ordinated successfully.
Bracknell Forest DAAT is committed to making sure that any resident of the borough who has issues with substances can access local services when they need to.
There are a number of services available in Bracknell Forest for adults and young people who are affected by substance misuse.

What do I do if I need help for a drug problem?
You can either go to your doctor and ask to be referred to New Hope, or you can attend the drop-in at New Hope.
New Hope is based at 92 Broadway, Bracknell, and the drop-in sessions are:
Tuesday 4pm-7.30pm
Friday 10am-12.30pm
New Hope’s general opening hours are:
Monday 9am-5pm
Tuesday 9am-7.30pm (drop-in 4pm-7.30pm)

Thursday 9am-5pm

What do I do if I have an alcohol problem?
You should see your doctor who will refer you to Berkshire Drug and Alcohol Specialist Service (BDASS)

There is not a Narcotics Anonymous meeting held in Bracknell. However, meetings are held in Wokingham, Reading, Slough and Maidenhead. Please use the phone number on this page for further details.
A family member/friend has drug or alcohol problems. How can I get information and support?
You can come into New Hope any time during opening hours, where a full range information leaflets are available. Alternatively a Family and Friends Group is held at New Hope on the last Thursday of every month to offer advice and support to people in this situation.
