Landscape Services
The Landscape Services section is responsible for maintaining a large number of horticultural features across the Borough. Landscape Services comprises two teams:
- The Grounds Maintenance Service is responsible for maintaining council-owned grassed areas, shrub borders, hedges and floral displays. In addition, the Grounds Maintenance team also maintain the majority of school grounds, sports pitches, parks, leisure sites, cemeteries and the crematorium
- The Tree Service is responsible for inspecting and maintaining all council-owned trees. The team is also responsible for the protection of private trees.
Landscape Services aims to achieve the highest standards of horticultural excellence and, in doing so, they have won numerous awards in the regional Thames & Chilterns “In Bloom” competition. We also won a silver award in the national Britain in Bloom competition in 2004 and currently hold three Green Flag awards for the quality of our parks.
The Landscape Services staff pride themselves on delivering a high standard of horticultural maintenance. These mobile teams regularly visit sites to maintain the defined standards set for our Borough's landscape."
