Seasonal Issues
Springtime Grass
During the spring the grass grows very quickly and the Grounds Maintenance team do their best to try and keep up. We aim to ensure that all of our grass area’s are maintained to a good standard but sometimes at the beginning of the growing season, between April – June, the grass may be longer than we would like. This is because when the grass is growing so quickly it may take us a little longer to get around. It is particularly difficult if the weather is wet as this inevitably slows us down. Please understand that we are doing our best to keep the grass tidy and we are fully utilising the resources available to tackle this task in the most effective way.
Autumn Leaves
Bracknell Forest has a very high density of urban tree cover. This has many benefits and most people prefer to live in a green and leafy environment. However during the autumn months the deciduous trees in our parks and open spaces will shed their leaves. Whilst for most people kicking up autumn leaves is great fun, we appreciate that for some residents they can present a problem. Landscape Services and Street Cleansing are working together to ensure the most effective programme possible for the collection of autumn leaves.
- Street Cleansing are responsible for clearing leaves from the footpaths and roadways.
- Landscape Services are responsible for clearing the grassed areas.
The leaf clearance will be done in two phases; the first in autumn or early winter and the second to catch any further falls later on. We are aware that some areas of Bracknell Forest are affected more than others. Please be assured that we do target these areas with additional resources.
