Alcohol and Entertainment Licences

The Licensing Team deals with all licences under the Licensing Act 2003, including:

  1. Premises Licences - required for premises that are used for one or more licensable activities
  2. Personal Licences - required to authorise the sale of alcohol
  3. Temporary Events Notices - for one-off events for 499 people or less
  4. Club Premises Certificates - required for qualifying clubs that are used for one or more licensable activities

Licensable activities are

  • Sale by retail of alcohol
  • Supply of alcohol by or on behalf of a club or to the order of a member of the club
  • Provision of regulated entertainment (eg, live/recorded music, dancing, plays)
  • Provision of late night refreshment

Licensing Policy

The Bracknell Forest Statement of Licensing Policy can be found in the download section on the right. This sets out the issues that the licensing authority will take into account when determining applications for licences. The overriding aim is to promote the four licensing objectives:

  • Prevention of crime and disorder
  • Public safety
  • Prevention of public nuisance
  • Protection of children from harm

Online licensing

The Council offers a range of online services relating to alcohol and entertainment licensing under the Licensing Act 2003. You can register an application, request further information about how to apply for a licence, view details of current licences and comment on current licence applications.
