Church Street, Crowthorne: Conservation Area Designation Consultation
As you maybe aware, Bracknell Forest Council has been considering the designation of an area in Church Street, Crowthorne, as a new conservation area within the Borough. An appraisal report was undertaken in January 2008 and local residents and interested organisations were consulted on the report and proposal.
Respondents to this consultation generally welcomed the proposal for a conservation area in this part of Crowthorne. However, most felt that the area should be extended further towards the High Street given the historic nature of Church Street. The Council listened to the views of those who responded from the community and, as a result decided, to re-appraise the area. It is considered that there is justification to extend the proposal to include more of Church Street and the junction with the High Street. Therefore, the proposed conservation area boundary has now been extended and the appraisal report revised to include more of Church Street and a small part of the High Street.
The Council now wishes to consult again on the boundary changes to the proposed conservation area and to the additional sections within the appraisal report.
We are now consulting on this amended proposal. The consultation period runs from Monday 24 November until Wednesday 24 December 2008.
