Limitations of the system and its use

'Online Documents' provides a live link to the Planning Department database and it has the current limitations:

  • The service is available online between 6:10am and 1am daily
  • Planning records are available online back to 1948
  • Planning documents are available online back to 1 January 2000
  • The online planning records contained within the site at present is incomplete and must not be used as a substitute for carrying out a formal Land Charges Search. No responsibility will be taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history information obtained from the Online Documents system
  • Similarly the information contained within Online Documents does not constitute in any way a formal notification of a planning decision, and as such any actions taken as a result of information displayed on the site are undertaken entirely at the viewer’s own risk
  • Under normal circumstances the plans and documents associated with new planning applications will be able to be viewed within 1 working day of receipt of a valid application. If documents are not available you may wish to try later or alternatively you will be able to view the application and associated documents at the Council’s Time Square office during office hours.
  • Under the Local Government (Access to Information Act 1985) your comments will be made available for public inspection at the Council's Time Square Office as well as being available for viewing online.
