Public Access to Planning Information
You must tick the box and click on the 'submit' button to acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to the copyright and other limitations before you will be allowed to view the Public Access site and associated documents.
Remember: planning applications and their associated documents can also be viewed during office hours at our Time Square office.
What we provide with the service
The Public Access online service allows you to:
- Search for planning applications by a variety of criteria such as address, date and type
- View details of planning applications such as key dates
- Track the current status of a planning application.
- Submit comments on Planning Applications during the appropriate stage of the application process
- View properties and applications on a map
- View documents related to applications.
Limitations of the system and its use
'Public Access' provides a live link to the Planning Department database and it has the current limitations:
- The service is available online between 6:10am and 1am daily
- Planning records are available online back to 1948
- Planning documents are available online back to 1 January 2000
- The online planning records contained within the site at present is incomplete and must not be used as a substitute for carrying out a formal Land Charges Search. No responsibility will be taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history information obtained from the Public Access system
- Similarly the information contained within Public Access does not constitute in any way a formal notification of a planning decision, and as such any actions taken as a result of information displayed on the site are undertaken entirely at the viewer’s own risk
- Under normal circumstances the plans and documents associated with new planning applications can be viewed within 1 working day of receipt of a valid application. If documents are not available you may wish to try later or alternatively you will be able to view the application and associated documents at the Council’s Time Square office during office hours.
- Under the Local Government (Access to Information Act 1985) your comments will be made available for public inspection at the Council's Time Square office as well as being available for viewing online.
Copyright Notice
Plans, drawing and material submitted to the Council are protected by the Copyright Acts (Section 47, 1988 Act). You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes; to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner.
