Land north of Whitegrove and Quelm Park AAP Stages

The Land North of Whitegrove and Quelm Park Area Action Plan (AAP) will follow a number of stages during its production. Each stage will also be accompanied by a sustainability appraisal to assess and guide the development of the AAP. This will also be available for consultation. The stages of production are:

Pre-production

Document Timescale
Commencement of document October 2008
Sustainability appraisal scoping report January 2009
Discussions with key stakeholders October 2008 – April 2009
Gathering evidence base October 2008 – April 2009

Public Participation

Document Timescale
This document will present preferred policy options and indicative layouts for development on the site for the community’s input June – July 2009
Draft sustainability appraisal report June – July 2009

Draft Submission

Document Timescale
Publication of draft submission document – this will take into account representations from the public participation stage. The document will present finalised policies, a proposals map and an infrastructure plan. Formal representations will be sought on the soundness of the document January – February 2010
Final sustainability appraisal report January – February 2010

Submission

Document Timescale
Submit the area action plan, representations on the plan, sustainability appraisal report and proposals map to the Secretary of State May 2010

Examination

Document Timescale
During this period a government inspector considers the plan and decides if it has been correctly prepared and is an appropriate plan for the area. The inspector issues a report including recommendations which are binding on the Council. September– October 2010

Adoption

Document Timescale
The Council formally approves the plan to be used to help judge a planning application for the site. July 2011
