Warfield Supplementary Planning Document
The council has undertaken an additional consultation in response to feedback from our previous consultation on the Warfield SPD. The Detailed Concept Plan – Warfield SPD (October 2011) provides:
- A revised Concept Plan.
- Plans of the character areas and associated development densities.
- A focus on 6 areas of the site where the document describes the character principles that development will be expected to follow including photos and sketches of how the development might look in these areas
All comments received will be considered with all previous comments on the earlier consultation in the production of the final Warfield SPD.
Background
The land in Warfield is identified in the Bracknell Forest Borough Core Strategy (Policy CS5) as a broad location for future development. This area is allocated for a comprehensive mixed-use development, including approximately 2,200 homes.
To plan for this development, the council is developing a supplementary planning document, which will guide the type and level of development for the site, the distribution and layout of uses across the site and the measures needed to support the development. This document will provide development principles and concept plan preferred policies, which together will form a comprehensive framework to guide development. Once adopted, and with Policy CS5 of the adopted Core Strategy, the SPD will be a material consideration in the determination of planning applications affecting the site.
The council published a draft of the SPD for public consultation between Monday 29 November and Monday 17 January 2011.
The council is now going through the responses and will consider these with other evidence and appraisal in preparing the final version of the SPD.
Further consultation
The council will undertake more targeted consultation with key individuals, organisations, residents groups and other interested parties to refine the SPD further.
Publication of the Warfield SPD
The council will consider responses received together with other sources of evidence including the sustainability appraisal. The final document and sustainability appraisal are due to be published in early 2012.
