Core Strategy Submission Documents
Consultation on the Core Strategy Submission document and Submission Proposals Map ended on 22 December 2006. The relevant documentation can be viewed in the Core Strategy Examination Library.
Site Allocation Representations Consultation
Consultation took place between 29 January and 12 March 2007 on site allocation representations received during the consultation on the Submission Core Strategy in November/December 2006.
You may view the List of Site Specific Representations. Full copies of the representations can be viewed by visiting the Core Strategy Submission Representations pages.
The Examination into the Core Strategy was formally closed on 16 October 2007 following receipt of the Closure Letter from the Planning Inspectorate, which accompanied the Independent Examination Inspector’s Fact Check Report and appendices.
The Council has now received the Inspector’s Final Report and appendices following consideration of the Council’s comments on the Fact Check Report. This Final Report is binding on the Council. In summary, the Council’s Core Strategy, which establishes the long-term planning framework for future development in the Borough has been found 'sound' subject to minor changes and can now move forward to adoption.
The Inspector has commended the Council in developing this positive spatial strategy and, in particular, on preparing a bespoke Special Protection Area avoidance and mitigation strategy for housing development in the area; on the good directional policies for housing and employment and on the proposals for the regeneration of Bracknell town centre. This is only the 5th core strategy to be found sound in the South East.
Following this decision the Council can now look to the development of more detailed policies and proposals to deliver the strategic framework set out in the Core Strategy.
