Local Transport Plan (LTP2) Strategic Environment Assessment

The Local Transport Plan 2 (LTP2) sets out how Bracknell Forest intends to deliver transport from 2006 to 2011. Further information on LTP2 is available.

The LTP2 requires a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) to be undertaken which informs the plan throughout its production and, where possible, ensures environmental issues are integrated into the final document.

The process was carried out to meet legal requirements and in line with the procedure and stages outlined in government guidance.

Scoping Report

In December 2004 a Scoping Report was produced which outlined the proposed methodology for assessment, baseline information, key sustainability issues, objectives and indicators. This was distributed for consultation to the statutory bodies with environmental responsibility. The Scoping Report is available to download from the section on the right.

Draft Environmental Report

The SEA was iterative throughout the plan’s preparation therefore a Draft Environmental Report was produced alongside the provisional LTP2 in July 2005. This consultation document was circulated to key stakeholders for further comments which informed the final Environmental Report.

Final Environmental Report

The Environmental Report was submitted alongside the LTP2 in March 2006. This report documents the whole SEA process, identifies changes made to the plan as a result and puts in place a monitoring framework to establish whether the aims of the SEA have been fulfilled. This is available to download from the section on the right.

SEA Statement

The SEA Statement is a summary of the Final Environmental Report explaining how the findings of the assessment have been taken into account in the decision-making process and the public’s involvement. This document is available to download from the section on the right.
