Parking Standards Supplementary Planning SA/SEA

The Parking Standards Supplementary Planning Document aims to update the existing Parking Standards and Guidelines (approved in 2001) and clarify the approach taken within Bracknell Forest to the provision of parking, within the remit of other guidance.

The Sustainability Appraisal (incorporating a Stratgegic Environmental Assessment) for the Parking Standards SPD has now been completed. The Sustainability Appraisal process was prepared simultaneously with the the supplementary planning document to ensure it informed the strategy throughout production thereby ensuring that sustainable development objectives were fully integrated.

The Sustainability Appraisal Process followed the procedure outlined in government guidance. Consultation throughout the appraisal process has also been in accordance with relevant regulations, government guidance and the Borough Council’s Statement of Community Involvement. Feedback from the consultation process has been documented in the Final Sustainability Appraisal (SA) Report which can be downloaded on the right-hand side of this page.

The Parking Standards Supplementary Planning Document was adopted in July 2007 and a Sustainability Statement was produced, which provides a non-technical summary of the decision-making process, the public’s involvement and how the recommendations of the sustainability appraisal.
