Pre-Drivers Education Programme
- One in five new drivers crashes within a year of passing their test
- Young and novice drivers are most at risk in the first two years after they have passed their test
- Inexperienced drivers have more collisions than experienced drivers during the first two years of driving
- Young inexperienced drivers have the most accidents, this relates to a mixture of poor attitude and inadequate risk perception
Pre-driver education aims to foster responsible attitudes to driving before or after young people have had any practical driving experience. The Council offers pre-driver education in schools and colleges for pupils 16+. The next Motorwise course takes place on 28 October 2008 at Sandhurst Sports Centre.
