  • Walk to school - if you have children, walk or cycle with them to school
  • 1 in 5 - if you drive to work, try travelling sustainably just one day a week
  • Public transport – set a realistic goal. Try travelling on public transport once a week. When you get used to how the system works you can travel more places, more often.
  • Plan your journey – there are many websites that will help you plan a journey using public transport
  • Pedometer – buy a pedometer and count how many steps you take in an average day, then set targets for increasing your walking
  • Travel Plans – if your work place does not have a Green Travel Plan, ask them to contact the Council for help in setting one up
