e+ card - what does it do?
Currently the e+ card already has a number of applications but we are continually pushing forward the boundaries of smart card technology looking for new ways to use the card to improve services. As these new applications are added, your e+ card will provide you with these services. The technology behind the e+ card also allows us and our partners to offer Bracknell Forest residents extra special offers and reduced charging for certain services.
The e+ card replaces the old style library cards and allows users all the same features of a traditional library card – borrowing books, hiring CDs, DVDs and videos, and using the libraries’ free internet service to surf the internet and reserve and renew books online.
The e+ card is also used as a membership card at Bracknell Leisure Centre and Downshire Golf Complex.
Membership details are accessed more quickly with the e+ card, allowing the cardholder to spend less time queuing because of the electronic chip. Online booking is also now available to e+ card holders for certain leisure activities.
Concessionary bus pass
The e+ card is used as a concessionary fare pass by disabled and older persons on local buses.
Proof of age
The e+ card programme has been awarded nationally recognised PASS scheme status for proof of age. For e+ card holders aged 12 to 25 years who verify their date of birth, the PASS hologram and date of birth are printed on the card.
e+ discount directory
Shop local and save with e+. The e+ discount directory offers dozens of deals and discounts in shops, restaurants, leisure attractions and businesses in Bracknell Forest; including Crowthorne and Sandhurst.

Rewards for recycling
If your household is in Bracknell Forest you can register your address for the recycling incentive scheme and gain reward points each fortnight when you correctly recycle using your blue bin. These points can be redeemed for a range of rewards across borough leisure and library sites and green rewards.
Organ donor register
When you register for an e+ card, you are offered the chance to register your details with the Organ Donation and Transplantation service at the same time.
If you do select this service, there are two options to choose from, then you will be asked to give your consent for the council to share your personal data with the NHS Blood and Transplant Service.
When your e+ card is produced it will show the organ donor logo and your data will be made available to NHS Blood and Transplant Service.
They will register you according to the preferences you selected and write to you directly, sending an organ donor card and notification of the details they have registered.
If you later decide you wish to remove yourself from the register, you will need to contact NHS Blood and Transplant directly.
If you wish to amend or withdraw your record from the NHS organ donor register you can do so by:
- calling 0300 123 2323
- visiting the organ donation website
- writing to:
