Communication and consultation is essential to getting things done in Bracknell Forest for two reasons:
- The Council gains a better understanding of local needs and priorities
- People get a better understanding of the services we offer and which might be of use to them, their friends, families or communities.
Like most other public sector agencies, we are required by Government to consult more often and in more depth.
To facilitate the whole process and provide greater opportunities for larger numbers of people to take part, we now publish a register of planned engagement activities. Each activity is classified using three broad categories:
- Issues
Discussions or consultations relating to specific topics, e.g. Refuse collection, Budgets - Identity
Discussions or consultations relating to specific people or groups, e.g. Older People, - Geography
Discussions or consultations on specific areas, e.g. Bullbrook, Bracknell Forest, Thames Valley
