Careers in Childminding

About Registered Childminders

Registered childminders look after one or more children under the age of eight for more than a total of two hours a day on domestic premises (normally a childminder's own home) for reward. They are registered and inspected by Ofsted and are self-employed, run their own business and provide a service to the families whose children they care for.

Childminding could be for you if you:

  • Like looking after children
  • Enjoy planning activities for children
  • Are energetic, enthusiastic and caring
  • Enjoy caring for children from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds or chiildren with special needs
  • Would like to work in your own home
  • Want to make a real, positive difference to children, building their confidence and helping them develop into well adjusted, sociable young people

If you would like to register as a childminder in Bracknell Forest you need to book a place at an introductory Childminding Briefing Session.

During this free, two hour session you will be given information about how to become a registered childminder and have the opportunity to ask questions.

Please contact the Childminder Support and Inclusion Officer on 01344 312851 to book on the next available session.
