29/03/06 - Ian Whybrow

Ian Whybrow at Birch Hill Library

On March 29th, 55, year 5  children from Birch Hill Primary School listened and talked to the popular author, Ian Whybrow, in Birch Hill library.

He made them giggle, he made them think AND made them roar, (really)!

Ian’s presentation was a mixture of anecdotes, readings and questions, (to and from him). Many of the children brought books to be autographed and some, their exercise books, and all went away to their lunch looking very happy.

Ian Whybrow at Birch Hill LibraryIn the afternoon, Ian repeated the exercise with, year 2 children from Binfield CE Primary, in Binfield Library, all 58 of them. Many of these children bought books (provided by the school), which they had signed and about which Ian was happy to talk. They all enjoyed it as well.

Ian is a charming man with a fund of humorous stories about how he came to write the books, where the ideas came from etc and will be a welcome return visitor one day.
