Summer Team Read

The Library's Summer Team Read Challenge

This summer, at the Olympics in Beijing, we will be seeing lots of teams working together to win medals for their country. This year's Summer Reading Challenge, Team Read, gives you the opportunity to be part of a reading team which covers the whole country! Join in the fun - and you can also bring home your own medal!

The Challenge!

  • First, if you are not yet a member, join your local library. This is easy to do and it's free!
  • Then, from mid July, you can join the reading team, taking up the challenge to read 6 books over the summer holidays.
  • You will receive an "animated" Team Read membership card and there are six stickers to collect to complete the picture on your own fold-out poster.
  • Like the athletes in the Olympics you can aim to reach bronze, silver and gold medal levels.
  • When you have completed your 6 books you receive a glittering medal and a certificate.

Summer Fun

  • Look out for "Team Read" events which will be happening in libraries around Bracknell throughout the summer. There will be competitions to enter too!
  • The Team Read website will have lots of games, activities and author blogs. Readers who want more of a challenge can join the Extreme Team Read section.
  • Little brothers and sisters can join in with the Bookstart Book Crawl (for under 4s) and get a Team Read certificate too!

So don't just sit there – join our team and get reading – race down to your library today!
