If you have a child whose date of birth is on or between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2006 you will be able to register online by filling out the Primary admissions registration form . Alternatively you can telephone Customer Services on 01344 352000 to register.This will register your child with the School Admissions Team, this is not an application form for a school place for your child.
If you have more than one child born on or between 01/09/05 and 31/08/06 you will need to fill out a separate form for each.
Once your child is registered an application form to apply for a school place and a booklet explaining the process will be sent out to you in September 2009. You will then, if you wish, be able to contact schools within the Borough to make a visit and make your application. You will be able to apply for up to 3 schools (only naming schools within Bracknell Forest on your form). The completed form should be submitted to the School Admissions Team with your child’s birth certificate and your current council tax notice; this is essential if you wish to apply under designated area. You are welcome to come into Easthampstead House with the form and your documents will be photocopied and returned to you immediately.
An offer of a school place for your child will be sent by post on 23 April 2010
All of the secondary schools in Bracknell Forest are comprehensive schools. This means that they cater for children of all abilities. There are six maintained schools conveniently located throughout the Borough. The schools are:
- The Brakenhale School
- Easthampstead Park School
- Edgbarrow School
- Garth Hill College
- Ranelagh Church of England School (Aided)
- Sandhurst School
Secondary School Places
Applications to transfer to secondary school are co-ordinated by the Local Authority in which you live. Each year when children enter Year 6 they will receive an application to apply to transfer to secondary school into Year 7. If your child is in an independent school you must contact your Local Authority during the summer before your child enters Year 6 to register to receive this form. The closing date each year for these forms to be returned is the 31 October and offer letters are posted to parents on the following 1 March.

If you are moving from abroad you will need to come into the office with your child and bring in any relevant passports and visas before application forms can be issued.
