Music Tuition

Instrumental and vocal music services to pupils in our schools are provided through a contract with the Berkshire Maestros (formerly BYMT). Small group lessons are available in a range of instruments, as well as the voice. There are also opportunities to play with others in an ensemble, band, choir or orchestra, as well as to take part in performances.
Lessons and other opportunities take place at primary and secondary schools and, out of school time, at the South Berkshire Music Centre in Rectory Lane, Bracknell.
A charge is made by Berkshire Maestros for tuition and group work. Our contract:
- Subsidises the cost of tuition and musical ensembles to encourage more pupils to take part
- Provides fee remission for pupils whose families are on income support or similar
- Provides some fee relief towards talented pupils who undertake a large number of activities
- Provides other music education projects that widen access and allow more pupils to participate
- Provides short concerts in schools
We also support other music education projects, working with other partners
