Clerking Information
The Clerk to the Governing Body has an important part to play in making sure that the governing body's work is well organised. It is helpful if the clerk is able to offer information and advice to the governing body, particularly on matters involving the law and procedures to be followed at meetings.
Clerks often need quick and easy access to information. This area is designed to help clerks access this information quickly. Links have been made to the Department for Education website where you can view documentation relating to legal requirements, for example, A Guide to the Law for School Governors. Documentation produced by Bracknell Forest Local Authority can also be accessed, for example, the termly clerks' briefing papers, governor development programme, guidance on the election of parent governors, etc.
