Newly Qualified Teachers
If you are searching for your first teaching appointment, look no further!
Bracknell Forest is committed to help newly qualified teachers’ development and offer excellent training, support, incentives and benefits to endorse this.
We are a small authority where you will be treated as an individual; we know our schools and will ensure you start your career in the right one for you!
Early Start of Salary
If you are able to work for a short period before the end of the Summer Term, your school has the facility to pay you from 1st July. Apart from enabling you to receive your salary throughout the summer, you can get to know the school and other staff, meet the pupils, prepare work and find accommodation in the local area ready for September.
Financial Benefits
There are a number of schemes running nationally which offer incentives to NQTs in shortage subjects. Some positions will attract Recruitment Allowances and there are also Golden Hello payments. We have an excellent Flexible Benefits Scheme, a loan scheme and there is housing help available too.
Primary Pool System
Bracknell Forest runs a pool system for primary school applicants. Your online application can be used for all 30 primary schools in the Borough. Please note that only online applications will be accepted.
After an initial screening process if your application is successful you will be invited for a first interview during March/April. This interview will enable you to gain good experience of interview techniques and an insight to the typical questions asked. It helps us to know which schools will suit your skills and specialism.
To be included in the first round of interviews, your application will need to be returned no later than 27 February 2011.
If you are successful in this interview, your application will be circulated to all appropriate schools in the Borough who have suitable vacancies for you matching your strengths and Key Stage preference.
Schools who are interested in your application will then contact you with details of the specific posts they have, and invite you to a second interview. You will have the opportunity to choose which school you work in within the Borough, we don’t choose for you.
Secondary Pool System
Bracknell Forest is also running a pool system for secondary school applicants - further details can be found on our web site where you can complete an online application.
Your application will go through an initial screening process and if successful your details will be circulated to the Headteachers at our six secondary schools. Schools who are interested in your application will then contact you with details of the specific posts they have and you can then choose whether you wish to be considered for the post, perhaps after a school visit.
We will continue to match your application to school vacancies until you find a post which suits you.
NQT Vacancies
If you prefer to apply for specific posts, our teaching posts are advertised online on our school vacancy website. If you are interested in a particular vacancy contact the school directly, to find out more and maybe arrange a school visit or simply submit an application online.
