Cultural Strategy 2008-2012

A new Cultural Strategy has recently been produced and the full version is available to the right of this page. As this is a very large document, it has also been divided into parts, which you can find listed below.

The mission statement is:-

‘To improve the look and feel of Bracknell Forest, attracting visitors and making it a stimulating and enjoyable place to visit and to contribute to a thriving community where all people are happy to live, work and achieve’.

The strategy describes the important role that culture plays in the Borough in the context of the people, the place and the facilities and services that are available. It reviews progress since the first strategy was produced in 2002 and considers local, regional and national trends. The refreshed strategy sets out an ambitious action plan as to how to make things happen through working together in the future.

The new Cultural Strategy has three strategic themes:-

  • Enhance town centres, villages and neighbourhoods.
  • Improve the sense of belonging and community spirit for all.
  • Continue to support and improve the range of high quality facilities and services.

The full document is very large and has therefore been divided into the following parts:

A shortened version of the strategy is available to the right of this page as well as the full length version. Hard copies are available from Carol Billyard, telephone 01344 351750.
