Heritage Database
About the Heritage Database
The Heritage Database was created following an audit of museum, library and archive collections that have items relating to Bracknell Forest.
The Database includes details of material held at the Berkshire Record Office, the local studies collections at Bracknell and Reading Libraries, the Museum of Reading and several other institutions.
Using the search facilities you can find photographs, objects, documents and other information relating to various aspects of the Borough’s heritage. The database will tell you what is available and where the items are held.
If you have information on any relevant collection not included here then please contact the Heritage Officer. The Database will continue to be updated as further information is collected.
Using the Heritage Database
- If you know the name of a person, organisation, building or location that you want to find out about you can type this into the Name/Location Search,
- If you want to find records relating to a specific topic you can type any word into the Keyword Search.
- If you do not know exactly what you are looking for you can browse the database by subject, name or parish.
- The most successful way of finding the information that you want is to Browse by Subject. Each subject has a subheading under which you can find a number of records.
To find out what the Heritage Database covers take a look at the Heritage Database Subject Headings.
