Body Logic Fitness Suite
Our fitness suite is suitable for all ages and levels. The layout is designed for a person in a wheelchair to use and we provide equipment specifically for disabled users.
Our equipment includes aerobic machines such as steppers, rowers, bikes, treadmills and cross trainers. We also have a full range of resistance machines.
Our trained fitness staff are always on hand to help.
Circuits
Circuit training is a high-energy aerobic workout combined with weight resistance equipment in a series of stations, stopping only briefly before each exercise to keep your heart rate within an acceptable range. As well as the mixed circuit sessions, we offer a ladies only circuit and teen circuits.
Teen Circuits is a chance for teens aged 11 - 15 years old to use our fitness room and begin to develop a healthy attitude towards exercise. It is for those who wish to use the sports centre’s gym, but are not old enough to use it unsupervised (min age 16). The session is supervised by at least one fitness instructor at all times.
The aim of Teen circuits is to introduce teenagers to the gym environment in a safe and controlled way while enabling them to get the most from their workout.
On their first visit they are introduced to the equipment with the second session devoted to designing a fitness programme to suit their needs. Children aged 11 & 12 have the use of the cardiovascular machines including Bikes, Rowers, Treadmills, Steppers and X-Trainer, along with a range of own body weight exercises designed to protect growing bones. Once 13, the teens are then introduced to the fixed resistance machines and these are combined with their personal programmes to encourage muscle strength in major muscle groups. The free weights are not used during teen circuits for safety reasons.
GP Referral
This is a new scheme, which has been set up in conjunction with local GP surgeries, and it is designed for individuals who are requiring more specific attention in terms of a gentle exercise programme. For more details on this scheme you can contact the Fitness Instructors.
