Biodiversity Action Plan

The aim of the Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) is ‘To conserve and enhance biodiversity within Bracknell Forest Borough.’
Individual action plans have been devised for 24 species of plants and animals in Bracknell Forest known as the "Bracknell 24". These species have been carefully chosen to include a wide cross section ranging from internationally rare or protected species, to more common species which are locally valued or special. Actions to conserve the "Bracknell 24" and their habitats will also have beneficial knock-on effects for other species.
For information on the "Bracknell 24" please download the Bracknell Forest Biodiversity Action Plan to the right of this page.
2006-2011 review
The final review of the current Bracknell Forest Biodiversity Action Plan is available in the download section on this page. The BAP comprises 140 targets intended to drive conservation of species and habitats spread across a period of six years from 2006. Progress on these targets has been collated through contact with those who are actively involved in achieving positive steps towards improving biodiversity. Special thanks go to those who have helped provide information on the activities of various organisations in relation to targets.
The new Biodiversity Action Plan 2012-2017
Preparations are being made to produce a consultation document for the next 5-year BAP for 2012-2017. This is due for public consultation early in 2012.
The plan will be available to the public but if you would like to be sent a copy of the consultation draft when it becomes available please contact us.
