Balancing Ponds
There are five leisure sites that contain Balancing Ponds:
- Allsmoor Pond
- Farleymoor Lake
- Savernake Park
- South Hill Park
- Westmorland Park
Balancing Ponds are specially engineered ponds that are designed to hold and store flood water in times of excessive rainfall.
The maintenance of the ponds is the responsibility of Thames Water. This includes the removal of dumped rubbish and the quality of the water and health of the fish stock. They can be contacted by telephoning 0845 9200 800 or in writing at:
