Ordnance Survey Maps
Ordnance Survey maps are recommended to help you plan and follow your route along rights of way in the countryside. The most useful type of map is the 1:25,000 Explorer Series which shows rights of way in green and provides helpful information such as field boundaries and Long Distance and Recreation Routes. The 1:50,000 Landranger Series also shows rights of way (in red).
Ordnance Survey Maps derive their information from the Definitive Map and Statement which is the legal document recording information on public rights of way. The Borough Council has a duty to keep up to date the Definitive Map and Statement for the Borough, and these are available for inspection at the Time Square office and Bracknell library. Queries on the line or status of particular routes and the review of the Definitive Map and Statement should be addressed to the Bracknell Forest Borough Council.
