Tree O’ Clock
On Saturday 5 December at 11am - 12noon Bracknell Forest dug in and took part in a World Record Attempt!
Bracknell Forest residents of all ages joined Bracknell Forest Council in contributing to the nationwide attempt at setting a new Guinness World Record for planting the most trees in one hour in multiple locations.
The project, led by BBC Breathing Places took place across the country as part of National Tree Week with the council’s Parks & Countryside Service leading Bracknell Forest’s big dig.
Where was my local tree planting event?
Local groups and schools helped to plant trees in different areas of Bracknell Forest:
- Priory Lane Field, Warfield
- Mill Park, Bracknell
- Tinkers Copse, Binfield
- Berrybank Copse, Sandhurst
- Sandhurst Memorial Park, Sandhurst
- Land Outside Binfield Library
Each site was treated in relation to its size and character and therefore the aim was not to plant as many trees as possible in Bracknell Forest in one hour, but to contribute to the nationwide attempt by planting an appropriate number of trees in sites that will most benefit from this with measures in place for aftercare.
