Libraries - online information resources
Here is a list of online resources that you may gain access to either from within the library's public network, or from home by using your library card.
In-library specific resources
These are two family history sites with over 750 million historical records which hold invaluable details about your past. Birth, marriage and death records, parish records, complete 1841–1911 census collections, migration records and military records. As well as databases in common each site has access to unique datasets. For example,
- Ancestry - British Phone Books, Criminal Registers and Worldwide Datasets;
- Findmypast - Overseas Birth, Marriage & Death records, wider Parish Records (outside London) Boyds Marriage Index and Outgoing Passenger Lists.
Please note that the ability to save records has also been removed from Findmypast because the terminals are shared. Neither website allows access to the Living Relatives database and the Family Tree maker.
The links above will give you a taster of each website. These are the personal subscription websites only. To access the library subscription website, please come to your local library where there is access from any public computer.
This is a consumer website that focuses on consumer issues and ensuring you have the information to make the right choices - whether that's by reviewing products or providing independent advice you can trust.
Access is available in these libraries: Bracknell, Ascot Heath, Binfield, Crowthorne, Sandhurst and Whitegrove.
