Licence - gambling premises

Under the Gambling Act 2005, the council is responsible for issuing licences and permits for activities such as bingo, betting and the provision of gaming machines.

The Bracknell Forest Statement of Gambling principles (in the ‘Documents’ section on this page) sets out the policy that we will generally apply when considering applications. If you send us an application you must demonstrate how you will promote the three licensing objectives:

  • preventing gambling from being a source of crime and disorder, being associated with crime or disorder, or being used to support crime
  • ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way
  • protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling
