Mobile Meals - Meals on Wheels
This service is provided Monday to Friday in the Bracknell area. The Home Support Brokerage team liaise with the WRVS in Reading who deliver the meals. The cost to the client is £2.50.
Service users that live in the Sandhurst area can have meals supplied every day of the week at the same cost.
Service users that live in Crowthorne can have a meal delivered everyday but Saturday.
Service available Monday to Friday in all areas, apart from:
- Sandhurst – available 7 days
- Crowthorne – available Mon – Fri and Sundays
Service details
- Service user selects choice of meals/desserts from a brochure. Meals are delivered weekly, generally on a Tuesday (although WRVS can offer Thursday or Friday if required). Order for following week collected when meals are delivered
- Service user pays weekly, on delivery. Where service user cannot manage their own finances, arrangements can be made for an invoice to be sent monthly to a third party
- WRVS can loan service users mini freezers and microwaves free of charge. Most of the frozen meals are suitable to be reheated in a microwave (only 3 exceptions:- shepherds pie, cottage pie and savoury mince)
