The Funeral Director
The Funeral Director is there to provide a professional and sympathetic service and ensure that your funeral arrangements for a loved one are carried out in accordance with your wishes. Most funeral directors are members of professional organisations such as The National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF). These organisations work to a Code of Practice, which sets standards and provides for a complaints procedure.
The funeral director will collect the deceased and make the necessary arrangements with the cemetery & crematorium and make all the payments on your behalf. Liase with the minister or person conducting the funeral, ensure that all the statutory documents are completed and forwarded to the cemetery and crematorium, transport the coffin and arrange transport for yourselves to the church or cemetery & crematorium chapel.
