Renewal of Marriage Vows

renewal of marriage vows image

This ceremony is for any married couple that wish to celebrate renewing their marriage vows. Often these ceremonies are associated with a special wedding anniversary but the ceremony is also appropriate for couples at any stage of marriage. Many couples who get married abroad choose to renew their Marriage Vows in a special event for family and friends. Any married couple, of any age and married for any length of time, can arrange a Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremony. It does not matter if you do not live in the area where you want your ceremony.

The Ceremony will be conducted by a 'Celebrant' but will not be acting in any official capacity even though they may be a Registrar. Celebrants are trained and experienced in conducting many different ceremonies and can help the couple create an individual ceremony. Children and guests are encouraged to participate in the ceremony and you will need to ask two people to witness the signing of the Certificate at the event.

Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremonies can contain the following sections:

  • Introduction and Welcome
  • Acknowledgement of any children of the marriage
  • Reading
  • Renewal of Vows
  • Rededication of ring(s)
  • Giving of new ring(s) or gift(s)
  • Words from previous wedding guest (often Best Man, Bridesmaid or Bride's father)
  • Signing of Certificate
  • Witnesses and Closing Words.

The Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremony is usually approximately 15 minutes and can be up to 30 minutes in duration depending on the number of options and readings chosen. The cost of the ceremony is £145 at outside venues and £135 at the Syrett Suite.
