Anti-Bullying Group
The Anti-Bullying Group (ABG) is a multi-agency forum which brings together representatives from all who are involved in dealing with bullying, whether working with victims or perpetrators.
The Anti-Bullying Group undertakes a varied programme of activities and initiatives to tackle and prevent bullying and raise awareness of the negative impacts of bullying. It also supports schools and other professionals with training and resources. Activities of the Anti-Bullying Group include:
- Peer Mentoring scheme in secondary schools - ‘Safe to Learn’
- Drama productions and workshops in schools
- Competitions and events during national Anti-Bullying week
- Information booklet for parents and carers
- Training and guidance for young people on cyber-bullying
As well as working with local partners from the statutory and voluntary sector, the Anti-Bullying Group also works with leading national organisations such as the Anti-Bullying Alliance and Stonewall.
The Anti-Bullying Strategy is an important tool to help us to ensure children and young people feel safe. By ‘Taking Action Together’ we can help to reduce bullying and ensure children and young people feel safe, are able to participate within their communities and achieve their full potential.
