Support and Contributions
What services do I have to pay for?
The Council will carry out a financial assessment to work out a contribution that is fair and reasonable for you.
In addition to contributing toward the cost of their home support and if they can afford to, people will be asked to make a contribution to the following Community Care Services (included those funded by a Direct Payment) provided by Adult Social Care and Health:
- Home Care and Community Support;
- Direct Payments
- Meals at Home
- Day Care and support
- Transport
- Employment Suppor
This list does not include all services that require a contribution. There are other services that will require an assessed contribution including all those funded from a personal budget which are not the ‘non traditional’ community care services listed above (except where there already is statutory guidance or a Council policy already in place on contributions for such services).
What services have no charge?
Bracknell Forest Borough Council will make no charge to people for:
- Assessment, support planning, care management and Intermediate Care
- Community equipment services costing less than £1,000, as defined in the Community Care (Delayed Discharges etc.) Act 2003.
- Services for children except where: The service is provided under Section 2 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970; and The child has, in his or her own right, substantial income or substantial capital which generates income or has received a substantial award which is generating income to which the child is absolutely entitled.
